MAC Address Registration Problem
A list of the MAC address (both wired and wireless) for all the tablets has been submitted to the proper people and the tablets will (eventually) all be registered to the Physics Department
Some of the tablets have not had both of their MAC addresses, wired and wireless, registered with hagrid. If you try to get off campus, i.e. go to http://www.google.com, and find that you are not able to but you can get to the mines homepage, i.e. http://www.mines.edu, than this most likely means that your MAC has not been registered. To my knowledge we have not been instructed as to registering the tablets and as they are not ours to keep it would seem strange that we would brand them with our slate username and password forever.
However, in general if you would like to register a new MAC address with the school network here are the quick and dirty steps:
- In the residence hall you should be redirected to a registration page when you open a internet browser.
- On the main campus you should open a browser and point it to http://resnet.mines.edu where you click on the main campus link and then fill out the form.
