The following page provides an overview of the key algorithm of linear algebra, Gaussian elimination (GE). Every student of linear algebra must master this algorithm. However, it is likely that many students will rarely see use this skill outside of a linear algebra environment. This is because LARGE linear systems are common and naturally require the use of computational tools. With that said, the key-point here is that the algorithm one conducts by hand is not the same as a computer applies, which is the primary point of this discussion.
